The best thing about an animation film is the unimaginable and bizzare ways in which an idea can be shown.
Specially the “things” that cannot be easily shown in a non-animated film.
This film is one of the best testimonies for the same.

Father John Thomas is from a small town in the country of Australia.
One day he is caught by the God doing some “sinful” act, which forces him to go on the other side of the box – be a confessor himself.
He recalls the incident when a lesbian girl had come to confess her sin to him. The sin of imagining “filthy things” about another woman.

To her surprise, the father assures her that the so-called “filthy” desires will not lead her to the hell.
Not only this, Father John Thomas encourages her to passionately pursue her palpable pleasures, for he knows what it feels to be liberated!

In the end, he begins questioning his “exact” sexual orientation – gay or lesbian or bisexual or…!

I loved the way the film ends – where the “exact” sexual orientation of the protagonist Father is not revealed.
That’s the whole point – it doesn’t matter really!
What matters is to be comfortable and accepting in one’s own skin – which is precisely what the Father learns.

“You are now truly one step closer to your own God, as nothing is better than find your true yourself.”
